Okay, we will start with a little information, not about marketing, but some of my background. Not the boring stuff, but enough to show that I am a real person and not some computer generated, hype infected persona.

  • Age-old, 66 years of it.
  • Gender – male.
  • Interests – family, motorcycling, camping, touring on the bike, sailing.
  • Three children, four grandchildren, one long suffering wife (having to put up with me), and a dog.
  • Hobbies – just one, internet marketing. Yes, this is a hobby. I am involved for the ongoing challenge of constantly learning new skills and putting them to use. Obviously, I also derive a small income from this which gives me the freedom to throw a leg over the bike (slowly at my age) and tour. A laptop and wireless modem keep me in touch with the online world, frequently from the shade of a tree along the highway or from the deck of the yacht.
  • I have two websites which have no connection with this one. They are booking/referral sites for small ship cruises and have been on line since my early days of using the internet for more than reading emails. I have a third which is in the design stage only as I am still writing the course material and producing instructional videos for it.
  • If I stress the remaining active brain cells sufficiently I can remember also training as an Electrical Fitter/ Automotive Electrician/Automotive Electronics Technician in the Army. This was followed with a Diploma of Teaching and nine years of teaching automotive apprentices. Next career was owning and managing an import business, importing and selling car parts.
  • This all led to an extreme dislike of working on and with motor vehicles'
  • The final career change occurred when I decided that I should do what I enjoyed most and I put my private sailing experience to good use, completed more courses and qualifications, and joined the commercial marine industry as a sailing instructor and commercial sailing skipper.
  • Finally, in my semi-retired mode I now sail, ride my bike, tour, and work on my internet marketing.
